Para todos los efectos tanto legales como operísticos la institución se denominará de las siguientes formas Instituto Superior de Educación Rural – ISER o su sigla de manera individual ISER, en correspondencia con su naturaleza jurídica, tipología, identidad y misión institucional, proyección académica y normatividad como Institución de Educación Superior (IES) en Colombia.
Lo anterior, como una marca que al igual que sus símbolos estarán regulados para su uso por el manual de imagen corporativa y políticas de propiedad intelectual en respaldo a los servicios académicos prestados, publicaciones y demás productos académicos generados de conformidad con su misión institucional.
La insignia ondeante del ISER es generosa en significación para quienes tienen la fortuna de gozar de un paisaje amplio y puro y para quienes creen en los jóvenes que allí se forman. Por tanto, el verde frescor de sus campos cultivados se encuentra en la parte superior de la bandera y en mayor proporción porque es también la esperanza en la promisoria juventud Iserista. El amarillo ubicado en una franja central inferior sugiere abundancia, trigales maduros y riqueza de espíritu. El rojo ubicado en la parte inferior en igual proporción al color amarillo significa vida, ardor juvenil y el entusiasmo que pone a sus labores el estudiante del Instituto Superior de Educación Rural – ISER.
Los diferentes elementos que contiene el escudo guardan un sentido y significado con la historia y tradición educativa del Instituto Superior de Educación Rural – ISER así:
El círculo es la base sobre la cual se apoyan los elementos constitutivos del logo-símbolo y encierra el concepto de perfección, globalización y dinamismo. El hombre está representado, por una forma geométrica semejante a una (i) latina minúscula, significando la comunidad y se encuentra ubicado en el centro del círculo, partiéndolo en dos. Alrededor del círculo negro, que representa a su vez la cabeza del hombre y el punto de la (i) latina, están dibujados los orbitales atómicos para dar forma a la imagen del átomo, expresando así el concepto de docencia, educación integral, conocimiento científico y ciencia. En el semicírculo superior está representado por medio de un piñón de máquina, expresando la correlación entre técnica, tecnología y ciencia. En el semicírculo inferior se encuentran las espigas simbolizando el crecimiento, la fertilidad y la madurez.
Todo lo anterior se apoya sobre un libro, elemento de vital importancia en todo trabajo intelectual y a fin a todas las ramas del saber, ventana que lleva al conocimiento del hombre y de todo lo que le rodea.
Gracias al talento del músico Fernando Castro y a la letra de Darío Sequedad, la Institución también posee un himno como otro de sus distintivos y cuya letra es como sigue:

Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology.
